Code Immersion Raleigh Reflection

Wow. I’m a week out from completing the full-time code immersion and the sense of completion still reigns. What can you learn in 8 weeks? Turns out a lot. I was hesitant to believe that after a short period of time, I’d be able to build something that was fully-functional on my own, but that’s what the TTS curriculum allows you do to. The lectures are structured, the slides are great reference and the projects really help you learn by hands-on programming.

The structure is very fast-paced – you will be better off if you’re able to attend office hours and work on your homework regularly. Help is plentiful and our teacher was very patient with explaining and often, re-explaining topics. The course structure allowed for our cohort to get to know each other, learn from one another and have fun in class.

When evaluating other programs and the costs, I didn’t think this would prepare me as well as it has. My friends are impressed with the projects I made (“hey, that looks like real website!”) I’m still a junior developer, but only experience will change that. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to get their feet wet in their learning – or see if coding is for them!
